The Israel Museum, Jerusalem Opening Tuesday, September 9, 2025, 7pm.

A landmark exhibition celebrating the Museum’s 60th anniversary presents the evolution and abundant techniques of printmaking, from master Renaissance engravings and Baroque etchings, through expressive 18th-century aquatints and lively 19th-century lithographs, to iconic screenprints of the 20th century and the wealth of approaches taken by today’s artists.
Featuring more than 200 works by such artists as Dürer, Rembrandt, Goya, Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso, Andy Warhol, Louise Bourgeois, Orit Hofshi, and Maya Zack, The Medium and the Message affirms printmaking’s capacity to reflect, critique, and shape the artistic transformations of its time.
