Beyond Hofshi’s remarkable display of mastery of varied media, and beyond her profound study of the landscape, the exhibition’s layout creates an immersive space reminiscent of an ancient religious edifice that has been abandoned and repurposed. The triptychs echo church altars; seemingly void of saints and goddesses…a red cross hovering over the rugged terrain. The archaeological sites appear as remnants and traces of a glorious past seized by industrial, hideous, heavily cemented functionality....
